OBJECTIVE:
Emerging graphic design professional with a broad range of skills in print and web; seeking an opportunity to support clients’ communications needs with dynamic and effective design solutions.
DESIGN EXPERIENCE:
Community Food Co-op (In-house, temp.): Created a variety of materials for both print and web for daily graphic needs as well as deliverables for a large scale membership event. Work included creating graphic look for event materials, producing web-ready graphics, newspaper ads, flyers, coupons, in-store signage and environmental graphics. The project also included a brochure and graphic standards for an education campaign about the store’s new green-built facility and it’s LEED Certification process. Received positive recommendations from the Marketing and Membership Manager. February - April 2009.
Allsop, Inc. (In-house, temp.): Created all tradeshow banners and signage for new brand launch at CES 2009, working with specialty printers. Collaborated with marketing, IT, and Creative Director to re-skin existing web site into an entirely new brand. Worked under limited budgets and tight deadlines to produce packaging prototypes and presentation slides for multiple sales meetings. Received positive recommendations from both Creative Director and Director of Product Development. October - December 2008.
United Way of Whatcom County (contract): Working within an existing national brand, collaborated with PR Manager to localize and design fund-raising campaign materials for the organizations annual fund drive, including brochures, ads, posters, cards, and forms. Acted as sole designer to meet deadlines, work with printers for large run print jobs, and communicate with client to fulfill terms of the project. Received positive feedback and written recommendations from Executive Director and PR Manager.
Opportunity Council (contract): Worked closely with PR department and program mangers to create materials for fund-raising campaign, including poster, handbill, table tents, and newspaper insert for annual event. Successfully incorporated existing visual components of campaign including a redesign character illustration, custom photography, and custom die cut design. Worked closely with printer to provide high quality cost effective print materials within deadlines. Competitively won contract from among a group of student peers based on interview and portfolio. Received written recommendations from PR/ Marketing Director (references available).
RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Allied Arts of Whatcom County: managed arts education program bringing artists into public schools through a Washington State Arts Commission grant program. Involved project management, personnel and budget management, marketing and promotion of program including print and web media creation and content management.
Stone Soup Designs: owner and designer of art jewelry company for past seven years with both wholesale and retail distribution in farmers markets, festivals and galleries. As owner I successfully managed employees, all accounting, marketing and all print and web design for the company. Stone Soup Designs has won awards for craft marketing and has seen steady annual fiscal growth since 2002.
